Dials Coffee Company started with a simple idea: build something honest.
Coffee has always been part of everyday life. It's there before the workday begins, around the kitchen table on Saturday mornings, during long conversations with friends, and in the quiet moments before the rest of the world wakes up. It's less about the drink itself and more about what happens around it.
For me, some of those early cups came while working at the Wabash County Sheriff's Department. The coffee wasn't anything special—usually the inexpensive kind that had spent a little too long on the warmer—but it brought people together. Between calls, conversations, and long shifts, coffee became part of the rhythm of the day. Looking back, it wasn't the quality of the coffee that mattered most. It was the people sharing it.
That lesson stayed with me.
As the years went on, I realized I didn't just want to sell coffee. I wanted to build something that reflected the values I grew up with: honesty, hard work, community, and taking pride in what you create.
That's why Dials Coffee Company exists.
We're building this company in Wabash, Indiana—a town rich with history, hardworking people, family businesses, and generations of neighbors helping neighbors. This community has shaped who I am. I grew up here, played Little League here, and today I have the privilege of coaching young players on many of those same fields. My family has deep roots in this town, and those roots continue to influence the kind of business we want to build.
Our goal isn't simply to become another coffee company.
We want to become a company people trust.
That means offering coffee we're proud to serve in our own home. It means treating customers with respect. It means celebrating the stories, people, and history that make communities like ours special. And it means remembering that every order represents a real person who chose to support a small family business.
You'll notice that our website says "More Than Coffee."
Those aren't just words.
Over time, this journal will become a place where we share more than products. We'll tell the stories of Wabash, highlight local businesses and community members, celebrate milestones, and document the journey of building Dials Coffee Company from the ground up. Some posts will be about coffee. Others will be about history, family, small-town life, and the lessons we learn along the way.
This is the very beginning.
Years from now, we hope to look back on this first entry and remember where it all started—not with a perfect plan, but with a belief that a company can still be built on integrity, relationships, and genuine care for the people it serves.
